Black and White Dresses- Instant Vintage and Sparkle and Fade

Hello lovelies,

how are you?  I've been feeling philosophical lately.  I was talking to a friend recently about life in general and she said to me that she was frustrated because she wasn't busy enough and she had too much time to think about all the things she wasn't happy with in her life.  I wondered then, is the problem that you're not happy with your life and should change it, or is it that you're just not busy enough to forget about your dissatisfaction?  It seemed to me a different way to look at things and I'm not sure what the right answer would be there...
On to other less philosophical things.  After the Christmas holidays I returned with two pretty dresses in tow.  Each dress is very different from the other: one creamy white and pretty, and the other black and sexy.
The cream dress was a Christmas present from my Mum from a little shop in Bath.  I can't remember what the name of the shop is but the dress says Instant Vintage on the label.  It's really cute and pretty and I love the beaded collar.

The other dress was from Urban Outfitters and I wore it to a New Year's Eve party.  It's slinky and see through around the waist.  It's by Sparkle and Fade.

It felt gorgeous on and was such a bargain at half price in the sale.  The only problem with this dress was that when I took it off at the end of the night it had dyed my skin purple.  Yes purple!!  It was everywhere I couldn't believe it!  I had to scrub really hard to get it all off.  Somehting like that has never happened to me before.  It seemed pretty dodgy.  I might try and soak this dress in water or something so it doesn't happen next time....
Anyway those were my two newest dresses.  I love them both and they're so different!
It's time for me to curl up and get in to bed.

Joy!

So it's been a few days since I last blogged.   I've been enjoying my time off; visiting friends, visiting London, doing nothing important, letting my brain remain in a fog.

Of course living abroad I have to make the most of the sales in Britain when I come back.  The shops here really are amazing.  Today I found a super cute and unusual dress in Joy.  It was 30 pounds cheaper than it's original price.

What do you think?

I can't wait to take it for an outing!

I hope you're enjoying the last of the lovely summer :)

Fantasy Dress Shopping - ASOS

Today there's 20% off at ASOS on selected items.  I'm already waiting for a dress to arrive in the post so can't really justify another but I thought I'd write a post of the dresses that caught my eye!

A Wear Daisy Print Tea Dress
I like the 40's feel of this style and print.  A glamorous day dress.  I think it would definitely be a useful addition to my wardrobe!

ASOS Skater Dress in Contrast Lace & Mesh Back
I like anything with a bit of lace at the moment.  I think this dress is unusual and I love the back.

Sugarhill Boutique Lace Up Back Dress in Milkshake Print
This Sugarhill Boutique dress is such a sweet spring colour.  It has a crazy cute milkshake print on it!

Ted Baker Spot Dress with Belt
Finally this Ted Baker dress (definitely just a fantasy buy for me!) is super cute perfection for Spring.
I hope you enjoyed your weekend and my fantasy shopping post!
If you check out the sale will you be having a fantasy shop or a real one?

Dahlia clothing

Hi there!

It's finally the weekend.  We made it, yaaayyy!!  I hope your week wasn't too stressful.  Mine was up and down but we definitely got a lot done so it was worthwhile.

I've noticed that one of my favourite clothing stores, Dahlia, has got their Spring Summer 2013 line up on their website.  I always try to pop in to their little boutique just off of Carnaby Street when I'm in the area.  I have a love of pretty floaty clothes and they seem to do them in a unique way.

Here are a couple of Dahlia items I own.

This one I bought in the sale off of ASOS.  I love it because I can easily dress it up or down, so I can wear it anywhere any time of the day.

This one I found half price in the boutique.  I needed a dress to wear to a Premier after party.  I love it's unique embroidered peter pan collar.  I feel like a pretty little doll when I wear it.

I love the broderie anglaise detail on the skirt

Finally last summer I picked up this Dahlia skirt in Topshop on Oxford Street.  It seemed everyone was long skirt crazy last summer but this one struck me as a little different from the rest.

I loved traipsing round London in my long swishy skirt....feeling very bohemian in the sunshine with my sunglasses on.

These are some of my favourite pieces in the wardrobe so I will definitely be keeping my eye on their label in the future.  You can check out their new collection on their website here.

I hope you have a great start to the weekend.

Topshop dresses

I recently went to look at the Topshop website for the sale but couldn't resist a peak at their new in section.  Dresses are always my favourite kind of fashion porn and they had some gorgeous new ones.

These really caught my eye

This Faye Dress by Jones and Jones is really unique with it's black lace on white and it's dirndl style skirt with volume from a net trimmed petticoat.  I think the nipped in waist would be really figure flattering.

This lace cut out dress by Rare is also really pretty and delicate with a nipped in waist and floaty skirt.  The cut out back makes its really different.
There was one other dress which has disappeared from the site since I last saw it!  It was this pale blue off shoulder dress.  Hopefully it's just sold out and will be back soon.  I love the 50's vintage print fabric and silhouette!

Hope you have a great Sunday!
