A Return to Blogging?

It has been a long time since I last wrote a blog post.  In that time I have become a Mum, alongside other life challenges such as returning to dance after the pregnancy and going through many related health issues.  As quite a different person from the woman who started this blog I have many questions with regards to how I might continue with it.  One major health issue I experienced during my pregnancy and after was quite severe eczema/ allergies, and even though the eczema has mostly calmed down now I still am left with incredibly sensitive skin.  This makes one of the main previous themes of this blog quite difficult to continue with.  My ability to test out and enjoy using cosmetics and skin care is now severely limited.  In particular lipstick is almost a no go area.  I’m still interested in things like baking and photography however now I have much less time for these activities between full time work and taking care of my daughter!  Despite the business of things the recent lockdown and my child becoming less of a baby and more of a toddler has perhaps provided space in my thoughts for my own personal development once again.  My interests may have changed but perhaps that is OK and rather than start a whole new blog, continuing this one and allowing it to change a bit in theme is a natural progression of growth as in life.  With all that is going on in the world writing a blog based on my limited and introspective experience of life seems a bit trite.  I hope a bit of normalcy and frivolity can be a necessary antidote to the apparent darkness surrounding us, and perhaps it is OK to escape the news from time to time and try and focus on small joys that we are fortunate to have and show in a way our gratefulness for them.  I do not know yet for sure what direction this blog will go in so for now I will leave this as a small introduction to a second beginning, what ever it might bring….

Late night thoughts- and new boots

Hello,

How are you?  Things for me have been a bit hectic these past few days.  I've been busy performing and feeling a bit run down in the breaks.  Luckily that busy period is over and I have a calmer week coming up.  Today I was able to go to the chiropractor and have a massage which really sorted out my tired body.
I also fitted in some extra sleep and I immediately began to feel better.  The fog in my brain has started to lift and I feel more awake again.  I often read that it's meant to be bad for your health to sleep in at weekends but I feel like what ever your body is telling you it needs you should listen to it.  I always feel better when I pay attention to how I feel and sleep more if I need to.
The weather is much warmer here than usual for Winter.  It already feels like Spring on some days.  I still have winter morning sunrises through bare trees to look at though.
My winter boots literally fell apart at the seams.  I put off getting a new pair for ages because decent ones are so expensive.  A shoe store here had an amazing 70% off sale though so I finally got my replacement boots.  I have to keep my dancer's ankles safe and warm in the snow!
I really need to cull some of my clothes so I've been taking pictures of some things to get ready to sell them on ebay!
I love my white wedding planner.  It's the perfect colour!
I'm looking forwards to having time to think about things other than work over the next few days and hopefully write up a few blog posts.  The next busy period arrives soon and will then be lasting for quite a while so I better enjoy it while I can!

Nighty night!

Candles and grey eye shadow

Hi there!

Sorry I've been quiet for a week or so.  I was feeling run down for days!  My brain was sooo foggy.  In the end I just had to be nice to myself and do as little as possible apart from the dancing that I had to do for my job.  Luckily I managed to feel much better by the time I had to do a show last Thursday but after that I had a little crash again.  So I'm taking it easy once more.  I've been preoccupied with trying to calm down my system and stop it reacting so sensitively to everything.  I've been drinking lots of tea, lighting lots of candles and having a few baths.

These pictures were taken last Sunday morning when the weather was much brighter than it has been this weekend.  It's horribly grey and overcast.  I've been keeping up trying to drink probiotic yoghurt drinks in the morning.

I had some of my home made banana bread for breakfast.  This time I had smaller bananas which made the bread slightly less moist.  I also added 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon but I didn't notice any difference in the taste so next time I might try adding 1/2 teaspoon.

I thought it would be nice to see some more of the Too Faced eye shadows in action.  I used the two darkest shadows in my Too Faced Palette; the darkest grey all over the lid and the black shadow a little bit on the outside edge of the top lash line.

I kept the rest of my face natural apart from some blusher and mascara.  I'm obsessed with make-up being relatively subtle and natural at the moment.  I've always gone through fazes, not so long ago it was a black eye liner obsession which I would do every day.  Then I got sick of that and now I like to do something quite subtle and natural for the day time.

I hope you're having a lovely autumn.  I've been gathering up any candles I can find lying around the flat to cosy up the evenings!  I need to go and get myself some scented ones for that extra luxurious feel.

Till next time :)
